Family Member Care

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

Family Member Care is a product of The Perception Collective Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). We build tools that help families and care providers keep health information organised and shared with the right people. Because that information is sensitive, we treat protecting it as core to the product. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal and health information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

  • Account details – your name, email and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash).
  • Care information you enter – the records you create about the person you care for: diagnoses, medications, practitioners, allergies, appointments, referrals, test results, documents and messages.
  • Usage information – basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

We use your information solely to provide the service: to show your records, keep your care group in sync, send the notifications and emails you ask for, and process your subscription. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your care records for advertising.

Who can see your records

Your care records are visible only to the members of your care group and, where you are supported by an NDIS or Aged-Care provider, the staff you are connected to. You control who is in your care group and can remove members at any time.

Storage and security

Your data is stored on secure, access-controlled infrastructure. Access is protected by authentication and scoped so that one care group can never see another's data. We use reputable providers to process payments (Stripe) and to send email; these providers handle only the minimum information needed for their function.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can export or delete your records from within the app. Where a provider is involved, some records may be retained to meet care-sector record-keeping obligations. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your information within a reasonable period, subject to those obligations.

Your rights

You can access, correct or request deletion of your personal information at any time. To make a request, or to raise a privacy concern, contact us at privacy@familymembercare.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "last updated" date above.
